Leading Your School/Organization During Hard Times Episode 3

LEADING YOUR SCHOOL/ORGANIZATION DURING HARD TIMES

EPISODE 3

“Good leaders lead through hard times.” —Craig Groeschel

Hard times are one of the best opportunities to display your leadership abilities, it is the right time to apply the leadership knowledge you have acquired over time.

The true test of leadership is not when everything is alright; great leaders emerge and develop their leadership capacity during crises.

COVID-19 may appear to be the main problem right now. However, it may interest you to know that other problems such as social panic, fear, anxiety, obvious economic impact, public perception to the problem etc. are also profound challenges people are dealing with too.

Now is the time for you to think about how your decisions will affect your school/organizational community as well as your team—not out of arrogance, but out of humility.

Even if what you do or plan to do is right, you must ensure you make it understood by people. You will have problems if you’re making a new, innovative, or risky decision, without explicit explanation.

Cast a vision for why what you do is important, and why it’s the right thing for your team to do every step of the way.

This will help your team understand your motive and work with you to navigate this season better.

Yours in Leadership,
